The local area around Albergo Pineta plays host to a whole range of places of interest and things to do. Gerola Alta is the nearest village and features of the 18th century Church of Saint Bartholomew, with stunning architecture and decoration.
There is also a food shop, post office, sports field and tennis court. In the Winter there is also an outdoor ice skating rink.
Every third Sunday in September is the 'Sagra del Bitto Cheese' with tastings and a mixture of traditional cusine and street food. This cheese is still made in the pastures on the mountain tops.
Pescegallo, situated 1450mt. is the last village accessible by road. It is the the starting point for visits to the 7 alpine lakes in the mountain range.
The chairlift takes you further for Summer walking and Winter skiing.
Further up the mountain is a drag-lift which will take you to the top of Salmurano for the blue runs, leading down to the red and black run. It is possible to continue skiing through the woods at the bottom of these runs to the hotel.

Pescegallo is also the starting point for off-piste alpine skiing.
